Regulations Governing Two Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme

Admission Procedure

  1. Reservation and relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/article 371(J) and any other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/State Government whichever is applicable and provided from time to time by the State Government.
  2. The Central Admission Cell of the state under the commissioner of public instruction shall monitor the admission to the government seat quota. CAC shall complete the admission processes within the stipulated time prescribed by the NCTE admission procedure. Any seats remaining vacant under this category, after completion of the admission processes by the CAC shall not be filled in by the university or TEI’s without prior permission by the government.
  3. The admission for management seat shall be made in merit, based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Other selection process is as per the policy of the central government/state government/university admission from time to time.

Documents to be enclosed

  • Original Marks card of class X
  • Original Degree or equivalent Certificates
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended
  • Study Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (Candidates other than Mangalore University)
  • Eligibility Certificate (Candidates from Universities other than Karnataka state)
  • Passport size colour photographs (4 copies) and stamp size (2 copies)
  • Aadhar card photocopy
  • Income and Caste certificate

NOTE: The candidate has to complete the B.Ed programme within 3 years from the date of admission and no extension is permissible as per NCTE norms.

Mandatory Norms:

  • Students are required to focus on discipline to foster acceptable and appropriate behaviour.
  • Irregular attendance, indifference in regard to class work, test and examinations, discourtesy towards the teacher’s insubordination, obscenity in words and act, wilful damage to college or hostel property, anti-social activities etc. are liable for disciplinary action which includes rustication from college.
  • Ragging/Harassment/Addiction in any form is totally prohibited in the college, college campus and hostels and if found guilty of these, such students will be dismissed from the college and legal actions will be taken against them.
  • Mobile phones are not permitted in the college campus.
  • Cancellation of admission under any circumstances is not allowed. If any candidate wants to quit the course in between the course for any reason before the due period, he/she must have to pay the full fees prescribed for the course.
  • Attendance to the college functions, association meetings, college assembly etc. is obligatory to all students.
  • The minimum attendance of student teachers will have to be 80% for all course work and 90% for practicum and school internship.
  • Students must follow the college dress code. They must wear the uniform recommended by the college.
